PIZZAAAA: Without question definitely a number 1 guilty pleasure. Who’s with us? Luckily there are many pizza places in Amsterdam where you can eat delicious pizzas. From golden to gluten-free or vegan pizzas.

Time to find out where to score the best pizza in Amsterdam.

1. Pizza Beppe, Roelof Hartstraat 27, Amsterdam

Pizza Beppe is the first restaurant in the Netherlands to be accepted by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana. It means their pizzas are prepared the authentic Neapoletean way. By honouring the original recipes and guidelines of the inventors of pizza, they pay respect to a tradition that has been “perfected” and passed on for generations. My favourites ones are the Pizza Tartufo (with truffle, LOVE) and Pizza Verduro. They also have some tasty vegan options! Looking for the best pizza in Amsterdam this is the one.

2. Krusta, Europaplein

Krusta, nestled on Amsterdam’s Europaplein, is a vibrant restaurant and bar offering an exciting mix of Italian, Spanish, and Greek cuisine. We had small meatballs in tomato sauce, Greek-style bruschetta, and Amazing green salad. Trust me, the salad sounds boring but it’s delicious cause Krusta promises to delight your tastebuds.

The menu, featuring homemade ingredients, gave us an amazing carbonara and switched up Greek moussaka with Italian lasagna. The bar complements the kitchen’s efforts with co*cktails influenced by Southern Europe. The retro-funky decor, blending classic Italian with disco vibes are totally my mood lately.

3. YamYam, Frederik Hendrikstraat 88 – 90

At Yamyam it always seems to be full of people, regardless the time of the day. Their pizzas are deliciously baked in the very first brick oven of Amsterdam West. They also serve pasta and delicious desserts.

4. Mama Dough, Beukenplein 21

Mama Dough serves you surprising pizzas, paninis and other Italian delicacies. The menu is traditional but they play with ingredients. The chef has created a special whole-grain pizza dough making the bottom nice and crispy. Sounds like a perfect pizza in Amsterdam. The drinks menu is filled with fine wines, special beers, exciting co*cktails and fresh gin-tonics. Also worth mentioning: They have a big outdoor terrace where you can sit in the sun (when the weather is good..) The perfect place to eat and enjoy your pizza in Amsterdam.

The word “pizza” dates back over a thousand years—it was first mentioned in a Latin text written in southern Italy in 997 CE.

5. Fiko Pizza, Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat 60, Amsterdam

Fiko Amsterdam is a restaurant where you can eat pizza in a luxurious setting. The interior is sleek in black and the ceiling has lots of golden details. If you want to throw yourself completely into the luxury vibe, order the golden pizza. (HEH, GOLDEN PIZZA?) Yep, Fiko serves the Gold Ricchezza which is a pizza with buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushrooms, truffle cream, 23k white truffle nuggets, 23k golden leafs and caramelized cherry tomatoes. You can also go for a more affordable, classic Italian pizza of course.

6. La Perla, Tweede Tuindwarsstraat 14 & 53, Pizza Amsterdam

La Perla is a cozy restaurant in the middle of the Jordaan. Simplicity makes this place a winner. Pizza is a dish where you can be 3 steps ahead if you have good base ingredients and La Perla is fully aware of this. The dough is baked in a stone oven with a delicious tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella. The ingredients that are sprinkled on the pizza are always fresh and you can taste that right away. The restaurant is small, so I would advise to make a reservation in advance! To find the best pizza in Amsterdam for you take a look at the menu.

7. Mastino Vegan, Bilderdijkstraat 192 H, Amsterdam

Mastino Vegan is the first glutenfree and vegan pizzaria in Amsterdam. No wonder that they have become very popular over the last years. They believe in quality using locally sourced organic products from the south of Italy. Their pizzas topped with vegan cheeses and vegetables to give you a true Italian experience, even without the traditional dough. The perfect place to find a veggie/ gluten-free pizza in Amsterdam. 8. Sugo, Ferdinand Bolstraat 107, Amsterdam

Sugo serves pizza al taglio: a rectangular pizza that is served in small slices. Delicious as a snack or – if you take multiple portions – as a main course. It is a simple dish, but therefore so sensitive to good preparation and use of high quality ingredients.

Humans aren’t the only ones who love the taste of pizza: There’s even a minipizza for dogscalled the “Heaven Scent Pizza,

9. De pizzabakkers

At De Pizzabakkers you will always find 13 pizzas on the menu: 12 fixed and a monthly changing pizza. They have 8 different branches in Amsterdam, so there’s always one in the neighborhood!

Italian inspired

10. Pazzi, De Clercqstraat 93, Amsterdam

At Pazzi you have the classic pizzas but besides that you can also go for a more creative one. (I’ve tried one with bacon, pineapple and onion, it was pretty good!) The restaurants (there are two, one in Oud-West and one in the Jordaan) have a warm industrial design. On the menu you can choose between anti pasta and pizza.

11. Pinsa’s, Spaarndammerstraat 772, Amsterdam

The Italian Marie and her son Danilo learned some pretty good bakery tricks in their homeland and decided to take the love of traditional pizzas to the Netherlands. Pinsa’s was rewarded three times with the title “best pizzeria in the Netherlands” and finished as number 11 on the world championship pizza baking which takes place annually in Parma. So that’s a good place to eat pizza in Amsterdam.

The Hawaiian pizza was invented in 1962 by Sam Panopoulos, a native of Greece who ran a pizza place in Canada.

Pizza night anyone?

Love,

Iris
