Easy & Delicious Instant Drinking Vinegar Recipe - Ready in 2 Minutes! (1)If you’ve haven’ttried a Drinking Vinegar Switchel or a Vinegar Shrubbefore, you may be thinking ‘Ewwww!’But, before you stick your tongue out, let me tellyou that they are SOdelicious & good for you!

There’s a few different methods for preparing a traditional Shrub Syrup & endless ways to enjoyit. Depending on which method you chose, Shrubs can take between 1-30 days to prepare & ferment. Once ready, you canadd the syrup to sparkling water or even to alcohol for making co*cktails. Switchels on the other hand are typically meant to be enjoyed by themselves without the dilution. This recipe is little bit of both.

The traditional preparation is great, but I don’t always have the time or want to wait for it. So instead of waiting, I came up with an Easy Instant Drinking Vinegar Recipe that tastes amazing & still has all of the health benefits. It’s also a great way to drink down that Apple Cider Vinegar you hear so much about… Even my kids LOVE it!

Description

This Instant Drinking Vinegar Recipe Tastes Amazing – It Uses Apple Cider Vinegar & is So Good for You! Whips up in just 2 Minutes & is Enjoyed by All Ages!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar – With the Mother (meaning it is alive with all its beneficial bacteria & not heat processed). My favorite brand is Braggs.
  • 3 Tablespoons Raw Honey (which has many health benefits) – Vegan Friends, feel free to use Maple Syrup or Natural Sweetener of choice.
  • 2 1/23 Cups All Natural Fruit Juice or Nectar (fresh or bottled) – with NO sugar or artificial sweeteners added. My favorite is Apricot Nectar, Apple, and Raspberry. Add more or less depending on your taste.
  • 1/21 Cup Water, Coconut Water, or Sparkling Water(unsweetened).
  • 1 Thin Sliceof Fresh Ginger (optional) – Peeled, Leave Whole or Crush

Instructions

  • In a quart sized Mason Jar, addall of the ingredients & mix/shake well until all of the Honey is dissolved.
  • Store in the Fridge & Shake well before serving.

Notes

If using Sparkling/Carbonated Water, don’t add it to the mixture until you’re ready to drink. Instead, pour the Juice & Vinegar Mixture into your cup and then add theSparkling/Carbonated Water. This way, your bubbles won’t go flat.

If you really want an intense Ginger flavor, you can blend the Ginger into your drink withyour Vitamix or Blender until smooth. Otherwise, just add the Ginger – it typically sinks to the bottom.

Don’t be afraid to try new flavors & combinations… Some of our favorite drinks have been experiments gone right!

If you’re away from home & craving aDrinking Vinegar…Suja makes a variety (Peach & Ginger is my fav!) that can usually be found at Target or Whole Foods in the cold case. I also like the Braggs Vinegar Drinks, although they don’t seem to have much ACV in them.

    Lemon-Honey Sipping Vinegar

    Fill a tumbler with ice
    Add:
1 tsp – 1 TBSP of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar (to taste)
1 – 2 tsp Raw, Unpasteurized Clover Honey (I use a local brand from the Central San Joaquin Valley, CA)
1/2 packet (or to taste) Real-Lemon (Crystalized Lemon); OR the juice from 1/2 – 1 lemon (to taste)

Fill the glass up with plain or lemonized Sparling Water.

Can also be made as a tea, only the ingredients are added to the hot water.

I am just beginning my ACV “journey” as I’ve read that it helps regulate blood sugar and I’m hoping it will help tame the post-meal “food baby” and bloat-related issues. I don’t like vinegar or sour foods in general however so I’m glad there are recipes out there by like-minded people. I’ve been making juice kefir for some time as a way to have “healthy” soda, so if this recipe calls for bubbles I wonder if the two could be combined, adding the ACV (and maybe some extra honey) to the kefir – ? Of course both the kefir and the vinegar have their own suite of bacteria so it may be that rhey compete or don’t play well together(?) Lately I’ve been using pineapple juice for the vitamin C, but grape juice and apple juice both produce tons of fizz as the sugar is digested by the little scobys. Actually I ended up cheating after my kefir grains went bad and used store-bought kefir to make more :). Anyway it’s something I’ll probably try so I wanted to toss the idea out in case others wanted to try it as well!
