Make a fist, you’ll feel a sharp scratch, all done. Your happiness results will be with you in 48 hours.Having bloods taken is a big part of my life, as it is the diagnostic for important decisions on my longevity. Good blood results mean I am withstanding treatment and in the best shape to continue, bad results mean my body is weakened. But my blood results are more than just a laboratory transaction, they are a reflection of my commitment to my own happiness. How many times have you had your blood taken, and paid more attention to the anxiety of the needle entering your arm vs the importance of what the results are telling you. I am by no means a walking encyclopaedia of what red, white and mean cell haemoglobin means, but I know enough to make sure that it is my responsibility to make sure that I do everything I can to ensure that they are in great shape. We often treat our bodies like we treat our cars, wait for the warning lights to come on before taking action. A car needs engine oil all year round to function, but we wait for a light to tell us to refill rather than proactively topping it up. Our body is the same, except some of our warning lights often appear when it is too late.My thoughts for you today are this: ➡️. The way you feel today is the best barometer of your health and happiness. If you don’t feel good, take action and book yourself an MOT health-check.➡️. If you have symptoms like tiredness, low mood, aches and pains. The answer isn’t old age, the answer is within your gift. What are you doing about it, what is the remedy?➡️. The remedy won’t always be an action that you like or enjoy. Not everyone loves exercise or cutting back on that bar of chocolate / glass of Prosecco. But the remedy is the remedy, it boils down to how much you want health and happiness.➡️. Clarify what you really want, then work as hard as you can, for as long as it takes. Happiness comes at a price, but the benefit is worth the investment.Lastly, YOU are worth looking after , there is nobody like you ❤️. My engine management light came on with irreversible effects. If there is one thing I want for you, it’s to be as healthy and happy as you can. You’ve got this 👊🏻❤️QUOTE: Discipline is what you want now, vs what you want the most.

When making a cup of tea, the milk ALWAYS goes in first followed by the boiling water!Right now, there are an army of people quickly scrolling through this post looking for the evidence to such an absurd statement. Believe it or not there are also a good proportion of the LinkedIn population thinking- Tell me something I don’t know, of course the milk goes in first. The reality is, whatever way you look at it, in the end there’s a nice hot cup of tea, made the way the person wants it.The purpose of my post is not to open up a debate on the etiquette of tea making (although I will be checking the comments for your preference). The purpose is to draw your attention to how much you analyse and question another person’s decisions vs the impact of your own happiness. Making tea is a trivial example, but how often has someone’s way of doing something frustrated you? Not everything in life needs to be right or wrong, it can actually fall into the category of ‘it doesn’t matter’. Being happy in life starts when you accept yourself for who you are and the way you live your life, the second part of happiness is how you show kindness when others are different to you. WHAT LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME SO FAR:➡️. Be kind and forgiving. Hate is like drinking poison expecting the other person to die - Buddha ➡️. Don’t be that person that complains about the weather, be the one that brings your own sunshine.➡️. Take care of your health! If you don’t see this as a priority, you aren’t prioritising living with happiness.➡️. Keep learning and keep it fun and interesting. Being the novice is a choice when you have the potential to become the expert.➡️. Invest in the right relationships. Don’t allow anyone to impact your time if they aren’t prepared to enrich yours.➡️. Lastly, when making tea, put the milk in first! We get one shot at this thing called life, we all must try our best to live and not just exist ❤️. Make your tea the way you want it, your life is your cup.QUOTE: Acceptance is an observation of life and a suspension of judgment about whether what is happening is good or bad, right or wrong. - Ron Smotherman.

Happy Birthday Phil, are you ready for your birthday gift?Today it’s my birthday, and If you’d asked me what would be my ideal birthday present, far from my thoughts would be a cannula in my arm with a toxic drug pumped into my veins. The reality is, this is the best birthday present ever! How many times have you been given a present on your birthday that you really wanted, like jewellery, clothing or the latest technology? Now ask yourself how long did the joy and happiness of that gift last? I’m going to hazard a guess at probably a couple of weeks max! Today for my birthday, I am being given the gift of time. Being hooked up to the drug of hope not only buys me time (a gift you’ll never find in any shop) but it reminds me of the importance of living. So today, I’m not the victim of circ*mstance, today I’m the richest man on the planet. Every year we are given a celebratory reminder that we are getting closer to the end rather than nearer to the beginning. What are you personally doing with this information? My thought for you today is this: If you wait for your birthday to celebrate your life, you are missing out on 364 beautiful gifts 🎁❤️. Have a great day everyone, I hope that you are living the life you want to live.QUOTE: The happiest people in life don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything.

The truth is, I needed cancer so that I could find myself.Prior to my cancer diagnosis I was happy, but I didn’t know what my purpose was. Last week I found myself speaking at Downing Street to some of the most influential and dedicated people I have ever had the privilege to meet. Talking about how charity work enhances the NHS from a patient perspective, allowed me to put a story into the context. To be able to do this as an ambassador for the charity Scanappeal is the least I could do as a sign of my gratitude. The incredible work they do to serve their community and the NHS with life saving equipment is both selfless and humbling.Being diagnosed with cancer was the tragedy in my life, but the triumph came with the lessons it taught me. Having a story to tell and a new found desire of wanting to make a positive difference for others, Scanappeal gave me a platform to engage and empower others. For that I will be eternally grateful. Learning what my purpose was, has allowed me to become a campaigning fundraiser and a respected voice, all whilst fulfilling my purpose of helping others. The icing on the cake was being present for the launch of the William Baxter memorial fund. The man was a force of nature and his legacy will now continue through others, to help others.Having purpose in life gives you fulfilment, something my eyes couldn’t see until trauma showed me. My post for you today is about encouraging you to find what makes you happy, surround yourself with people that appreciate you and help you grow. The trauma is the one thing I don’t wish upon you, so use my life lessons to kick start your motivation - Having a purpose means a life well lived. ❤️Go well my friends 👊🏻QUOTE: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. - Winston Churchill. My thanks go to the incredible people that make charity and saving lives their mission.
