Shark FlexBreeze is 'the most versatile fan I've ever used' - and it's £50 off (2024)

Shark is a hugely popular brand among household and cleaning enthusiasts, known for their knack for adding thoughtful features that elevate everyday household items.

With warm weather incoming, Shark have applied their design and engineering prowess to fans with the Shark FlexBreeze - currently on sale at Ninja and Amazon, reduced from £199.99 to £149.99. It's a high-end, feature-rich gadget that competes with Dyson's best at half the cost.

Featuring 12 different functions to keep you cool inside or outside, the Shark FlexBreeze is on of the most versatile fans on the market. Explore combinations of tabletop or pedestal, corded or cordless and with or without the InstaCool Mister attachment.

Use it in desktop mode to cool the home office, or place it on the floor to stay cool during a yoga or workout session. If you're not already convinced, read on to find out how The Mirror's Narin Flanders got on testing out the Shark FlexBreeze herself.

"I had an early look at the Shark FlexBreeze at a press event earlier this year where I listed it as one of the 12 most anticipated gadgets of 2024, but having one in person surpassed my already high expectations," writes Narin.

"Upon unboxing the FlexBreeze, it initially appears rather complex with a multitude of different attachments and pieces to sort through. However, fear not, as it easily clips together and I had it charging in the corner of the room within mere minutes - the most time-consuming part was actually breaking down the box for recycling."

"This could potentially be the most versatile fan I've ever used and, at this point, I believe it's worth the price even before Shark deducted £50 off it in their summer sale. The five-speed FlexBreeze can be utilised indoors or outdoors, corded or cordless."

A prior charge is necessary before its first outdoor use, notes Narin.

"Much to my children's amusem*nt, you can even attach a small water compartment to it and spritz cool water droplets if you're lounging outside during one of those still and sweltering heatwave days."

What Narin appreciated the most about the Shark FlexBreeze fan was it's "true versatility". She writes, "You can detach the main fan from the stand to make it freestanding with a simple flick of the wrist and, suddenly, if you're enjoying a drink in the garden under the sun and it feels a bit too warm, you've got a refreshing breeze."

According to Shark, this reduces the air temperature by an impressive five degrees.

Narin adds: "It also comes with a case to store the pieces you're not using, so there's no risk of misplacing anything. It's quiet enough to sleep with - even when oscillating, which is typically when my previous fan would make its presence known, and it certainly delivers a cooling punch."

Shark has earned a well-deserved reputation among its fans for introducing clever innovations that leave you wondering 'why has no-one ever thought of that before?' and the FlexBreeze is brimming with such signature details.

Narin shares, "From the magnetic back where you can attach the remote control to prevent misplacing it, to the spritz spray, the ease with which it can be disassembled (seriously, Optimus Prime can't transform as quickly), and the carry handle which is an integral part of the stylish design, this is the last fan you'll ever need to purchase and it's worth every penny."

"My only minor gripe is that if you're using it in the full stand, it would be beneficial for it to be a bit taller, but having used it for a while, I'm content to work around that by converting it into a tabletop fan and placing it on a counter or desk instead."

Tech deal of the week

Temperatures are set to soar this week, with some parts of the country basking in the high 20's.

Of course, that means you might also want to keep cool. Since not many of us have air conditioning, the next best thing is a powerful fan, and we have spotted one popular option on offer.

Amazon is currently stocking the Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan for just £20.49 - a 37 percent saving from its original £32.49. This is cheaper than last year's Prime Day, where it was just £24.

A popular choice during last year's heatwave, the Honeywell fan is perfect for taking into any room of your house that needs cooling down. Don't be fooled by its size, as the brand claims that you can feel the power "up to 7m away".

Whether it is placed on a table or a desk, this "powerful" fan uses a a 90 degree oscillating head that can "cool an entire room", according to shoppers. Meanwhile, there are three speed settings that you can choose from

Averaging an impressive 4.5 rating based on over an impressive 25,000 global reviews, the Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan remains a staple in summer among shoppers who have been hailing it as a "godsend" and "as good as air conditioning".

One glowing review read: "Great fan for my work environment - we always get too hot at work - so this is a godsend! Highly recommended."

A second five-star review read: "Had this fan for 3 years now it’s very small but very powerful! Leaves the room ice cold I’ve told all my friends to invest in it way better then any other fan we’ve had at home."

The Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan is on offer for £20.49, down from £32.49, on Amazon here.

If the Shark FlexBreeze fan doesn't tickle your fancy, John Lewis has a 42 inch Tower Fan available for £72. Alternatively, Dyson's Pure Cool purifying fan is also on sale - reduced to £299 from £399.

Struggling to sleep at night?
