The 16 best bed and breakfasts in Asheville (2024)

The Omni Grove Park Inn is a historic resort located in Asheville, North Carolina that offers luxurious rooms and suites with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The property has been around for over 100 years and is frequented by guests looking for excellent service and an outstanding location.

What an amazing building, and the grounds and breathtaking. It would probably take a few days to explore and experience everything this place has to offer. Everyone who worked there that we interacted with was top tier. They were so nice, helpful, and accommodating. You can tell that the staff really love what they do. The patrons were also great, and we carried on multiple conversations with people we didn't even know! It was a bit cold when we were there, but I can't wait to go back and explore the grounds. We saw people swimming outside in the huge heated pool and were very tempted! We will definitely be back soon!

We are local, we had reservations on December 28 for dinner at the blue ridge room. co*cktails excellent, service was great, and food selection was quite overwhelming, with so many choices! And the food was really surprisingly delicious, fresh tasting and kept at correct temperature! We had a lovely memorable celebration with our family! Also we spent some time before and after dinner walking around enjoying the exhibits from the gingerbread competition!!! WOW, stunning, and the decor all around the lobby was so festive!!! It was definitely worth the money we spent and we would love to make it an annual event for our family!!!!💕💕🎉

Everything was perfect. We were treated so well from the get-go. Views are awesome, spa is wonderful, food is fantastic, best fried green tomatoes you'll ever have. We went to Blue Ridge for the breakfast buffet, Edison for dinner, and Sunset Terrace for lunch, and all the meals were phenomenal. Wife and I had a great time.

Our stay was superior! We truly enjoyed our time spent at this resort from the moment we got out of our car until we left. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy and satisfied with our experience. The food was incredible and the views were over the top! We will definitely be back to enjoy the spa and golf (which we did not get a chance to do). This is a must stay while in Asheville!

Amazing and wonderful. My husband and I stayed here for two nights as a mini honeymoon. We splurged and got a room with a view and it was perfect. We also reserved a table on the sunset terrace for a lunch with our family and the service was great as we had two small children in our group. Afterwards the two of us grabbed a table and sat for hours and watched the sunset and drank co*cktails. The food was delicious! I would definitely go back again, especially when celebrating special occasions.

Service was great, food at the Vue was amazing. The views and the spa were amazing. However, the queen bedroom was motel quality. I understand the hotel is very old but for the price, the room was mediocre at best. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. It was very uncomfortable and the shower door hit the toilet when you open it. Just get a better room if you're planning a trip. Also the spa is booked full months in advance which sucks if you're planning a last minute trip. The hotel overall is nice but there's random holes in ceilings like in the room area or hotel lobby. Also, what looked like water damage that was covered up with foam in the lobby. The guests are kind of stuck up and give you "the look" if you're not to their liking.

The hotel was beautiful! The food was delicious! We went for a whole week and enjoyed ourselves so much! The check in was smooth. The front desk, valet, the sports complex and the restaurants we ate at, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the evenings in the big room with the fireplaces! Loved it! They do need a few more servers to accommodate all the guests, if they don't want to walk up to the bar. We didn't care to, but some guests had made comments. Now, my only "complaint" it was nothing bad, not a deal breaker, but just a bit of helpful advice. If you know there are 3 guests registered in a room, make sure you leave 3 washcloths for them, not 2. Overall highly recommend if you are looking for some R&R!

Very nice! Service was awesome. Reservations are a must if you want to enjoy the dinning experience to the fullest. With that being said, the gift store doubles as a food place as well and you don't need reservations to go there. Very clean, which is something that is very important to me. I'm going to be honest, it's definitely an "upper class" resort, pretty expensive. Though if you're a golf, spa, wine and dine person, then leave the kids with a family member and enjoy.

I haven't stayed there in over a decade, so I can't report about the rooms. In the past I have stayed in the historic portion of the hotel and loved it. The newer wings have nice rooms but really could be any hotel as I remembered it. Most recently had lunch on the sunset terrace - amazing view and wonderful salads. Service was 4 stars out of 5. It's so nice to just walk around, see the memorabilia on display and the shops. The spa is top notch! (And the prices reflect it.) The large stone facade, iconic eyebrow dormers, red tiled roof, and terraced grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend hanging out by the huge fireplaces that flank the lobby and having a bar drink. Christmas is magical especially if you stay there and get to see the gingerbread houses. (National competition)

This is a really unique Inn! Many aspects of it have a real early 1900s feel to it, and it is a whole experience in itself. There are several restaurants on the property, a small gallery and several small "museums," a renowned huge spa, and a giant entry hall, all with beautiful views of the mountains! When my family was there, someone was playing on the grand piano in the main hall, with both of the giant fires lit. This is all within biking distance of Asheville. I wouldn't be surprised if there were shuttle services into the city. In any case, this is a stellar hotel, a real experience, with an interesting history.

My husband and I have made many trips to the Grove Park Inn. The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful. The rockers at the fireplaces are a popular resting place. The food is amazing - whatever you order - and servings are plentiful. The views are spectacular. But I'm writing today to say that Geri at the check-in desk went Above and Beyond to make our check-in a great experience. Because it reserved two rooms - one for my husband and myself, and one for another couple - something had gotten confused in my reservation. Geri hustled to make the necessary arrangements and in no time had us the exact types of rooms we wanted in the traditional inn, which we wanted. She was just amazing. You could tell she owned the job of making every guests experience wonderful. And she was pleasant, smiled, made small talk, and demonstrated a wonderful attitude. I would be remiss not to say Thank You to Geri for taking care of us.

I didn't come a few years ago when my wife had a work conference and regretted it after seeing the pictures. Didn't make that same mistake this year. What a beautiful resort. The service and food were incredible. If you want to experience the spa and pool you have to book those reservations well in advance.

Stayed here on our 20th wedding anniversary. Our room, in the Vanderbilt Wing, was a bit disappointing. I think we expected something more grand. At any rate, we enjoyed the stay. Service was excellent. The views are awesome. Dining in the Blue Ridge Dining Room is an absolute must. And if you can ... stay when the Gingerbread competition is in full swing. It's a feast for the eyes and incredibly festive.

My husband and I eloped/honeymooned at the Park Grove Inn in early October, and absolutely loved our stay!! We ended up splurging on the club level rooms which was absolutely worth it. The spa was amazing, views were to die for, and the food/drinks were delicious. The historical side of the resort was really neat, too!The only reason I gave 4 stars for service was the issues we had with reservations and the front desk. The first person we talked to in reservations was absolutely wonderful. However, the next two were rude and made it hard to book anything. Once we got to the hotel, though, the service was amazing! The club butlers were absolutely wonderful, along with the servers we had.We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to celebrate our anniversary there for years to come!

Wonderful experience at an amazing facility. The people were very accommodating and the food and facilities were excellent. The only small complaint I have is that the bathroom had a rolling barn door, which I understand is aesthetically pleasing but provides no privacy. Of course, that is the fault of the architect and not of the great staff. I will definitely return.

to say this resort is big and beautiful would be an understatement. when you first pull up to the lobby of the hotel, you’re met by staff ready to welcome you into this stone and wood cabin-like resort, making it feel cozy despite it’s grandiosity. the lobby has a large fireplace on either side, a bar, lots of seating and, of course, the counter for check-in and check-out, as well as large doors to lead you to a patio overlooking the mountains. the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. i stayed here as part of a large conference hosted at the resort and the staff was super knowledgeable on what was going on and how to help us out. the room numbering is a little confusing- the resort sits at the top of a mountain so the top floor is the lobby and main area, then the rest of the hotel is seemingly underground with the floors going down in numerical order. there are also multiple gathering spaces, meeting rooms, and ballrooms- the ideal place to host a conference or a wedding, one of the things it’s well-known for. You’ll also find a café/marketplace, a restaurant, a bar, and a piano bar. there’s also a gorgeous, and quite pricey, spa with several amenities at your disposal. overall, this resort is amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, and perfect for business trip, family gathering, retreat, or vacation.

The hotel is iconic and the grounds are beautiful. The spa is also incredible, if you can get in. I’ve been before but couldn’t get an appointment this time. You can try to get a day pass to use the facilities.Check in was super easy and the person helping us was friendly and helpful. Our room was in the historic building. The rooms are definitely not luxurious. At all. I know they have tried to keep them looking like the time period when the place was originally built but for the price paid I would expect a bit more luxury. We were there with a large group and our dinners included one buffet dinner and one sit down dinner. Of the two, the food at the buffet was much better. But neither was anything to get excited about.I rated it with four stars because of the experience and definitely not for the food or the room.

We recently visited the Grove Park Inn and had a wonderful time. I must write and comment on our delightful brunch with friends at the Blue Ridge. Jose was our host that morning and he was extremely attentive and very professional. The Blue Ridge is blessed to have such an amazing team to build upon their success. The views from the dining room were spectacular with the fall foliage. If you are looking for a weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle, the Grove Park Inn and Spa are a must on your places to visit in North Carolina. Cheers to continued health and happiness! I want to give this place 5 stars so badly. The staff is always great and the food is always excellent. The views and general beauty of the area here are truly remarkable. The spa is beautiful and services are generally top notch as well. But this is where I get hung up. The past several trips here even checking several weeks in advance we have been unable to book any services. They are very busy and that is great and I completely understand that. It's frustrating but nothing I would hold against them. However in lieu of being able to book a service we opted to try and just get a pass to use the pool for a little while. I was told that the passes for the pool are now $244/per person. When you are already paying $600-$700 a night and $200-$300 per meal for 2 to 3 people it just seems completely unreasonable to spend almost $500 for 2 to use the pool area in the spa. In all fairness I think this is a compounded issue for me that just happens to fall in line with the general overall theme of almost everything cost related to travel (and well everything) being inflated to levels that make it unattainable to so many to be able to enjoy.

Beautiful hotel and setting in the mountains with a huge lobby with a fireplace and plenty of seating. There were several restaurants. The two different ones where We ate were great! The BIGGEST disappointment was a shabby small room for the price paid, for 1 night, $577. The pillows were flat and the mattress was not the best sleeping. The small bathroom was a tub you had to step over to get in the shower. The only positive thing I can say about the room is the window view was pretty of the mountains. The parking valet was $35 extra a night.

Wow, I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. There is the best customer service you could ever ask for. Staff members are all over to assist no matter if it is assisting you in finding your way, opening doors for you or just a smile and conversation. They are always so attentive to your needs. This place has so many layers to explore with the walk ways, pools, top notch spa and beautiful golf. If that is not enough there are plenty of shops to wander through to find the perfect gift. I loved all the history spread throughout the halls really telling the story of the Inn. Then if you are looking for a warm relaxing place to just sit, there are so many fireplaces, comfy sitting areas all with the best views you can imagine. If that is not enough you need to try out the restaurants and bars. This might not be the cheapest place to visit but it is worth every penny for the experience you will have! Bonus was I got to see a bear 🐻 😁 You will live this place for sure, it will NOT disappoint you!

We made reservations at The Edison for 7pm so we would catch the sunset. 6:30 is your prime reservation time if you come here during the fall color change but we still had a picturesque evening. Got a drink before our reservation and enjoyed the sunset. The dinner was absolutely delicious. I had the Market Fish special and my fiancé had the Market Butcher Shop special. Our service was spectacular and Kate was very personable to the point that we even showed her pictures of our experiences while in the area. That’s how welcomed we felt.We highly recommend that this place be a stopping point at some point in your stay in the area.We could not have written a better script for the evening. It’s worth it!!!

I absolutely loved it. Drinking hot cocoa in front of the fire. We stayed in the old wing so the rooms We're full of character. More relaxed than the Builtmore inn. The staff were kind and helpful. They went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast buffet was heaven. I can't wait to try the spa.

My family and I spent the day there and had Sunday brunch at the Blue Ridge. It was amazing - the food and service were fantastic! For me, it was definitely worth the price. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. We got the hot chocolate and viewed the gingerbread entries. The building itself is breathtaking. I can't imagine how beautiful the scenery was a few weeks ago with the changing colors. The fireplaces and Christmas decorations were very welcoming and created such a nice, relaxing atmosphere. It would be a perfect spot to celebrate an anniversary.

We spent our honeymoon at this stunningly beautiful resort! It was the perfect place to unwind after our wedding, and each staff member went above and beyond to make sure our trip was memorable and we were taken care of. The views of the mountains were spectacular and a visit to the spa is a must! We highly recommend the club floor level, there are extra benefits included and their concierge is phenomenal!

I've visited several times in the past and things were great. However, my last visit wasn't so pleasant. Be prepared to be ignored if you are hurt on their property. In a restaurant while there, a bus person accidentally broke a glass that inadvertently shattered in my eye. The Manager sent an eye wash to my room and charged me for it, which was later reversed. Someone skilled in first aid later came to my room with gloves already on his hands only to say yes I suggest a hospital visit. Emergency room visit was warranted, bill accumulated, spoke with several supposed managers to include home office in Texas. A certified letter was sent with hospital notes and pictures and NOTHING. So, I caution everyone to be very careful during your stay, watch your step and I pray nothing breaks in your direction. And to add to respond to you from your comment below, you called and emailed YESTERDAY 4/09/24. I returned your call David at 2:20pm today (4/10/24) and left you a detailed message. An hour or so later you posted here WITHOUT returning my call. Please make it make sense.

The best hotel I have been to by far. It's an experience as well as a place to stay. The views outside are beautiful, and sunsets are amazing. The inside is cozy, and I love the rocking chairs by the fire. There's a good bit to do, including trails, a golf course, and a sports complex. The sports complex needs a renovation, but it looks like they started it when we were leaving. The rooms were clean too. It's a beautiful hotel with lots of history and character. I look forward to my next visit.

We’ve lived in the Asheville area for almost 3 years and heard so many great things about the hotel. We finally stopped by for co*cktails at The Great Hall Bar with a small group of 6 friends celebrating a birthday. Sadly, the hotel’s venue did not live up to our expectations. Our server was pleasant. The view was superb. The server took our order of a few beers and appetizers to start. We found it odd that she asked for credit cards to start a tab, then walked away with our credit cards. That’s unexpected protocol for a high end venue. I’d expect that request at a bar where people may walk away. Our 4 other friends received their food, but we had to flag down a staff person for napkins and utensils. Once brought, it was enough cutlery for only two people. We laughed about it as it wasn’t the end of the world. They used their beverage napkins. The server then brought me my check and said I can ‘pay it’ when I’m ready. Two problems here: (1) We never got our drinks or food! (2) minimal good service should ‘at least’ require the server to ask if everything was ok and if we wanted anything else.Again, server was pleasant and we can only imagine they were down on staff. But, this experience only meant ‘get them out as soon as possible’ and flip the table. Note: the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were tables available around us.The venue’s promotions, advertising and expectation did not live up to the hype. Sadly disappointed. Probably won’t return.

The Omni Grove Park Inn is absolutely amazing! The location, service, food/drink offerings, spa and hotel itself is a wonderful getaway. We enjoyed our time, including a full day at the spa, and can’t wait to go back. The attention to detail throughout the hotel and even a gift in our room from the hotel manager was a really nice touch. Highly recommend!

We come here once a year for a couples trip. The Grove Park never disappoints. We do a spa day which was outstanding. The couples massage followed by the amazing pools and snowfall while sitting in the outdoor hot tub was picture perfect. Dinner at Edison’s was phenomenal with exceptional service. At check-in, Jacob took great care of our group. The staff on the club level does an outstanding job taking care of you too!
