What I love about this recipe is that it uses ingredients that are commonly found in your kitchen and pantry. It's a great recipe to make on a whim or when you have no idea what to put on the table. It doesn't take much thought or ingredients to prepare. This is a hearty meal with lots of flavor; everyone in the family eats it and typically goes back for seconds.

I like to pair this with a salad and some garlic bread. This is a perfect meal to freeze, so if you like to meal prep, this is a great casserole to do so.

ProTips:

  1. Cook your egg noodles for 2 minutes less than what the package states. You want them al dente, as you will add your casserole to the oven to bake for an additional 20–25 minutes. This will keep your egg noodles from getting mushy.
  2. You can substitute ground turkey for your hamburger, or even a mixture of ground sausage and burger.
  3. You can add veggies to the layers if you would like; onions, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, carrots, and peas are all good choices.

Prep Time: 5 min.; Cook Time: 25 min.; Total Time: 30 min.
