Lexington to hold 80th-anniversary D-Day event
A special program will be held in Lexington on Thursday to honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Most people don't realize Lexington has ties to the area around Normandy. Lexington and Deauville, France were among the first cities around the world to become sister cities in 1957. The Lexington program will be held at the Kentucky Theater at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, and it's free and open to the public.
Lexington leaders to visit Salt Lake City
Commerce Lexington is sending about 170 local business, education, and non-profit leaders to Salt Lake City later this week. The so-called "leadership visit" has been held for several years. Officials say trips like this helped to inspire things here like Thursday Night Live. The local group will be in the Utah Capitol from Wednesday to Friday.
