Your Impact:
Crozier is looking for a Senior Landscape Architect to lead our Landscape Architecture group and oversee all aspects of our landscape architecture projects within private sector land development.
You will play a key role in leading current projects, working collaboratively with the engineering teams on a variety of development projects, and cultivate new business development opportunities by being involved in all aspects of project delivery. This is an opportunity to showcase your aptitude for professional networking and business development.
You will be responsible for stamping and sealing all outgoing landscape designs, managing a team to support all active projects and provide guidance and mentorship to support the growth and development of the team.
This role can be based out of any one of our five offices – Collingwood, Milton, Guelph, Toronto, or Bradford.
How you will contribute to the team:
Business Development
- Communicate regularly with group leaders and supervisors to provide updates on actions and strategies to achieve group goals and targets.
- Develop and execute quarterly business plans, set goals and targets for the group as established to expand both services provided and market areas.
- Communicate regularly with other senior managers to discuss items of mutual interest, such as business development activities.
- Assist and monitor Project Managers with respect to establishing and tracking budgets, schedules, staff utilization and profitability targets as set through discussions with the Executive team.
- Source out and pursue new project opportunities.
Grow Relationships
- Develop, manage, lead, train, mentor, and motivate all members of the group.
- Lead business development and raise the profile of the department and the company.
- Cultivate strong client relations; liaise with professional colleagues and municipal/agency staff to move projects forward.
- Initiate and expand relationships within the development industry; attend events and meetings aimed at identifying potential business opportunities.
Manage Projects
- Collaborate with Partners and other Project Managers to identify project requirements and relay same to internal design teams.
- Develop project proposals, timelines, specifications, and work schedules.
- Assemble team/resources to identify deliverables and timelines, prepare and modify plans/designs, assisting clients in advancing projects toward completion.
- Project management and tracking to ensure timeliness of deliverables.
- Monitor and control project budgets to ensure on budget deliverables; review and approve monthly invoices for project roster.
- Oversee the preparation of landscape architectural designs, technical reports and submissions to support projects through various municipal and provincial approvals.
- Review of designs and deliverables for quality control.
What you bring:
- OALA full membership in good standing (or equivalent, with seal), with a minimum of 10 years of relevant consulting work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project landscape architecture/management within the land development industry, including residential, commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Superior design and technical experience in landscape architecture/management, including master planning and design, residential multi-unit sites with various housing types and related uses and some commercial and/or industrial projects and site design.
- Internal and external project team management experience on large multi-faceted projects for the private sector land development community.
- Proven leadership in design excellence with demonstrated high-quality work that elevates the design.
- Demonstrated experience in public presentations and representing/presenting work to clients and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- In-depth working knowledge of land development principles and municipal requirements within the Province of Ontario.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills and ability to prioritize/manage multiple project timelines.
- Client focused with the ability to cultivate and nurture relationships.
